In Level 3 we move beyond the basics and start building a simplified version of a commercial-style violin instrument.
I walk you through the goals of this course, including how we’ll design and implement a full custom GUI using purpose-made graphics, create a reusable true legato script, set up a scripted round-robin system, and explore various types of dynamic crossfading.
We also look at the importance of using a script editor like SublimeKSP, which allows us to take advantage of extended language features to write cleaner, more powerful scripts.
To help ease into the advanced material, we’ll begin with bite-sized exercise scripts before assembling everything into our finished instrument: the Acme Fiddle.
In the Exercise Files section for this video, you’ll find the complete project we’ll be building throughout the course. It includes all the samples, images, and the final script — which you can use as a reference or to check your progress. You’ll also find a set of GUI exercise files that are covered during the videos.
