3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data for the following purposes:

  • To send transactional emails (e.g. receipts, download links, and course-related notifications).
  • To send marketing communications, newsletters, and product announcements.
  • To respond to your support requests.

If you sign up for our newsletter or create an account, your email may be added to our mailing list. Emails are sent using Amazon SES. We track email performance (e.g. open and click rates) to improve content and engagement.

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link included in each email.

6. Disclosure of Information to Instructors

When you enroll in a course on Audio Dev School, your personal information — including your name and email address — will be made available to the instructor(s) of that course. This is necessary for the performance of our contract with you under Article 6(1)(b) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), as it enables instructors to support your learning and communicate with you regarding your enrollment.

Instructors may use this information to:

  • Offer related opportunities (such as freelance work, design services, or job offers) that are directly relevant to the course subject matter
  • Provide relevant support and follow-up relating to the course content
  • Perform their own analytical review of course performance and student engagement, in order to improve teaching and learning outcomes

You may receive a one-time welcome email directly from the instructor. This message may include an introduction, guidance on how to get started, and — where applicable — an invitation to join the instructor’s own mailing list.

Please note that if you choose to join an instructor’s mailing list or provide your contact information directly to them, you will be doing so outside of the Audio Dev School platform. We do not control, monitor, or take responsibility for how your information may be used once it is shared in that context. We encourage you to review the instructor’s own privacy practices before subscribing to any external communications.

However, instructors must not:

  • Use your information to promote or sell any training, courses, or other educational services that are not hosted on the Audio Dev School platform
  • Add you to any mailing list or CRM system without your explicit consent
  • Share your information with third parties for any purpose

These restrictions do not apply if you have knowingly and voluntarily subscribed to the instructor’s own mailing list. In such cases, the instructor is acting independently, and their use of your data will be governed by their own privacy policy and terms, which are outside the control and responsibility of Audio Dev School.

We take your privacy seriously. If you believe an instructor has misused your information or contacted you in breach of these terms, please report the incident by opening a support ticket. We will investigate and take appropriate action.

7. Analytics

We use a self-hosted analytics platform that:

  • Does not store personal data or IP addresses

We also track sales performance, email campaign engagement, and student progress through our course platform.

8. Payments

All payments are processed securely through Paddle. We do not store any credit card or payment data on our servers.

Users can view and manage their profiles through their account dashboard. If you would like to delete your account, you may request deletion by opening a support ticket.

Please note that deleting your account is permanent and will result in the loss of access to any courses or products you have purchased. We recommend downloading any available materials or completing your courses before submitting a deletion request.

We will remove your personal data unless we are legally required to retain it.
