Kontakt Scripting: Waveform Control Masterclass

In this video I introduce the project we’ll be building: a flexible, loop-friendly instrument that uses the waveform control for sample display, slice selection, per-zone envelopes, and reverse playback.

I give you a full tour of the completed instrument so you can see exactly what we’re aiming for, and highlight some of the quirks and challenges I ran into while figuring out how it all works.

This class assumes you already know the basics of Kontakt scripting. We’ll be starting from scratch, building up the instrument step by step, and along the way I’ll explain not just what I’m doing, but why—so you can apply the same ideas in your own projects.

You’ll find the final version of the instrument included in the Exercise Files section alongside this video, so you can explore the finished code and follow along at your own pace.
